The club's home is the Trafford Stadium, dubbed "Old Trafford." Trafford is an all-seater stadium with a capacity of 75,797. The teams played in various colors over the years, the most recognizable being the yellow and green shirts worn in 1878-1892 and again in 1894-1896. Other kits included red and white shirt (1892–1894) and all-white shirts (1896–1902), both worn with blue shorts. The red jerseys-white shorts-black socks combination came about in 1902.

The Manchester United crest has evolved over the years, but the basic form, derived from the crest of the City of Manchester, has remained true to form. The devil image represents the club's nickname "the Red Devils", adopted in the early 1960s. In 1998, the crest was modernized and the words "Football Club" were removed, leaving the image alone.
